Restore Salmon Habitat at Herrings House Park with EarthCorps
April 1, 2017 @ 10:00 am - 2:00 pm
| FreeJoin EarthCorps and the Green Seattle Partnership as we work in this park located along the Duwamish River (Seattle’s only river!). In 1999, Herring’s House was built around a constructed intertidal estuary to help young Chinook salmon. This is an important habitat site in the lower Duwamish for juvenile salmon providing safe shelter and food before they enter the Puget Sound.
The park features a picnic area, viewpoints of the Duwamish River, and trails.
